"Carbon Fixed" (willow charcoal and chalk on recycled paper, 42x59cm).

This drawing is about fixing the problem of global warming caused by the elevated levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide due to human activity. The image represents the use of mathematical and genetic models of plants running on computers to help in the breeding of high yielding Miscanthus and willow bioenergy crops. Such plants are part of the solution to this problem. Miscanthus is the crop shown and the willow charcoal, chalk and recycled paper used to produce the drawing all contain carbon ultimately derived from atmospheric carbon dioxide.
